Torque 1 is part of a series of sculptures designed to celebrate motorsports here in Ireland and the great success from Irish growing talent such as Charlie Eastwood, and young Daniel Harper racing in the Porsche programme.
The sculpture is made of Stainless Steel and is painted by Liquid Colour Design. It is an edition of eight. Torque is a physics 101 term referring to rotational force (Torque = Force x Distance from the centre of rotation) and inspired the circular motion of this sculpture which replicates the abstract expression of speed.
The artist has created 16 monumental commissions. She works mainly in Stainless Steel and Cast Bronze and finds great pleasure in the moulding and developing of a remarkable variety of simple linear patterns and flowing shapes. These abstract images are executed with high technical skill and craftsmanship, superbly finished with rich and varied colours.
Sandra is an international artist and has had solo exhibitions in galleries in New York, London, Oslo and Valetta, Malta as well as throughout the island of Ireland and her work is in the collections of many private, corporate and public bodies. Including:
