1. Payments and Deposits
1.1 All work must be paid for in full and cleared in our business account prior to release of any item. All work remains the property of Liquid Colour Design (“LCD”) until full payment has been received.
1.2 Payments made via PayPal, Visa, or Mastercard will incur an additional charge of 3.4%–5.6%. Our preferred method of payment is BACS transfer directly into our business account.
1.3
- Work under £100 must be paid in full prior to commencement.
- Work over £100 requires a deposit.
- Work over £1,000 requires a deposit equivalent to our daily rate, plus any design costs.
Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced. This includes the design phase. If the client cancels mid-project or after work has begun (including external processes such as chrome application), no refund will be issued.
1.4 Helmets purchased through LCD must be paid for in full. This payment acts as the deposit. Ownership transfers to the client upon purchase; however, the helmet will be retained by LCD until all paint and associated costs are paid in full. Once work has commenced, payments are non-refundable.
1.5 All work is scheduled into a production slot. A deposit or full payment secures this slot.
Invoices are valid for 30 days.
Completion timelines are estimates and may be extended due to curing times, material processes, or specialist finishes. As a bespoke service provider, LCD will not be rushed.
1.6 For mural, graffiti, or Trompe L’oeil work, a daily rate applies. A deposit equivalent to one full daily rate plus all associated costs (e.g. travel, accommodation) must be paid in advance, as detailed on the invoice.
1.7 Payment of any deposit constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. It is the client’s responsibility to read and understand them prior to proceeding.
1.8 Late payments may incur additional charges. Outstanding debts may be recovered through legal action.
2. Design
2.1 Clients must provide logos and graphics in correct vector format (AI cut files). If not supplied, LCD will source or recreate them. We cannot guarantee exact accuracy and will charge for time spent at £65 + VAT per hour.
2.2 By supplying logos or trademarks, the client grants LCD full permission to display completed work across all marketing channels. The client is responsible for ensuring they have the right to use such materials.
2.3 The Liquid Colour Design logo will be applied to all completed works. This is non-negotiable. LCD reserves the right to decline any project where this is not accepted.
2.4 Original manufacturer certification (e.g. FIA stickers) will be preserved and masked where possible. Non-original stickers will be removed. LCD ensures compliance with helmet authenticity standards.
2.5 Final painted work may vary slightly from 2D designs due to the transition from flat artwork to a 3D surface. The 2D design is a visual representation only.
2.6
- A design fee reflects time spent creating artwork.
- Clients must provide all required information before design begins.
- Final approval is required prior to painting.
- One revision is included; further changes will incur additional charges.
- No changes can be made once painting has commenced without additional cost.
2.7 Clients are requested to minimise non-essential contact during production, as time is allocated to scheduled work.
2.8 Colours may appear differently across screens. Unless exact paint codes are provided and confirmed, LCD will interpret colours using House of Kolor or PPG systems. LCD cannot be held responsible for subjective colour interpretation.
2.9 All designs created by LCD remain the intellectual property of LCD. Designs are produced exclusively for use by LCD.
Transfer of design rights must be agreed separately in writing.
LCD reserves the right to take legal action in cases of IP infringement.
3. Changes and Additional Work
3.1 Once a design has been approved and work commenced, any changes are treated as additional work.
3.2 Changes requested after commencement will be charged at £65 + VAT per hour, plus any additional material costs.
3.3 Helmets with existing factory graphics require additional preparation (sanding, priming, etc.) and will incur extra charges.
3.4 Completed items must be collected within 7 days. Storage fees of £2.50 per day will apply thereafter.
3.5 Vehicle work quotes are subject to inspection. Additional repair work (e.g. rust, dents) will be charged at £65 + VAT per hour. Clients will be informed before additional work begins.
4. Shipping
4.1 All shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the client and are calculated based on weight, value, and destination.
4.2 Clients are responsible for shipping insurance. LCD is not liable for items lost or damaged during return shipping. Claims must be supported with photographic evidence and reported immediately upon receipt.
4.3 International shipments may incur customs duties, taxes, and fees. These are the responsibility of the client and are outside LCD’s control.
5. General
5.1 If a fault is caused by LCD, it will be rectified at our expense. If caused by the client, rectification will be chargeable.
All issues must be reported on the day of receipt with supporting images.
5.2 Customised goods cannot be returned or refunded once completed. LCD reserves the right to retain items until payment is made in full.
5.3 Chrome finishes are completed by third-party specialists. Minor imperfections may occur, and LCD cannot be held responsible for these.
5.4 Exact colour matching requires client-supplied paint codes. Without these, LCD will interpret colours at its discretion.
6. Data Collection
6.1 LCD does not sell or distribute personal data to third parties. Data may be disclosed only where legally required.
Website analytics may be used to improve user experience.
Many Thanks,
Liquid Colour Design.
